How to Refer

Our clients are care and support staff in England who are supporting a person with dementia experiencing behaviours and psychological changes that are impacting their care.

The Referral Process

Once a referral has been submitted to DS UK, the service will receive a call from one of our skilled dementia consultants within 48 hours (Monday–Friday). During this call, the consultant will ask questions and assess the individual situation. The consultant will then schedule a video consult during which they will work with the service to determine the most appropriate course of action.

To receive Dementia Support UK services the person requiring support must:

  • Have a diagnosis of dementia, or suspected dementia
  • Be experiencing behaviours that are impacting their care or the way care is provided as a result of their dementia.

DS UK consultants provide advice and recommendations that are designed specifically for the person with dementia and the environment where they receive care. DS UK is not a medical service and our consultants do not complete clinical assessments.
